Random Photos From the 2006 and
2007 NCAA Division II Soccer Championships Held In Pensacola And Orange
Beach.
Who won? The 2006 winner was Metro State from Colorado and the runner up was Grand Valley State from Michigan. Tampa University defeated an excellent Franklin Pierce team from New Hampshire in 2007. The real winners were the people in our area who saw athletic competition and sportsmanship at its finest. Spectators came from all over the nation. The majority of players are from the US. Players also came from Cananda, Brazil, England, Sweden, Ireland and Serbia. ![]() Please pardon my personal
prejudices but its difficult to see these contests and keep a
photographers detachment. These ladies are athletes. Notice
the expressions on the faces. Note the grass stains and knee
brace! Franklin Pierce is in red.
![]() ![]() The matches were a mix of finesse
and body crashing contact. Red # 6 is Laura Stockdale from
England.
![]() Ok, I tried to get a little cute
by framing a shot. Soccer is a difficult sport to
photograph—the field is huge and the action covers every inch of it. Emily Stack #16 is an All Amercian ![]() ![]() ![]() The Pierce goal keeper is in
gray. She held Tampa scoreless for 90 minutes and two 10
minute overtimes!
Brittany Ester is an All American ![]() The Tampa keeper was just as
effective! Shannon Aitken is the NCAA National Player Of The Year.
