ROLLINS VS UWF   My apologies for the quality of these photos.  They manage to even violate my low standards.  I have some technical excuses, but I'll save them for my book, 101 Excuses For Lousy Photographs.  There was little chance my work was going to be mistaken for that of Ansel Adams or Margaret Bourke-White anyway.  As always, my photos are free and that is apparently a fitting price.  More importantly, UWF won the game 2-0.  I have about 300 photos of the Columbus State NCAA Tournament game I am processing.   (NOTE:  These may take some time to download.  Be patient and try again if you have problems.  I've tested this on different computers and it does work.  They are best viewed in a slideshow format.   By dragging them to a folder or disc, you will make it easier to view them over and over.  On a Mac you would simply "drag and drop" them to a folder and later burn this to a disc.  You can drag them to a folder using iPhoto and create a slideshow and even add music.  I believe you can do something similar with a Windows operation using the Preview function/program.   Years ago, when I first heard someone talk about "burning" a music CD,  I was amused to recall my mother threatening to "burn" my vinyl rock albums.  Sweet memory.)

It is fair to ask why I maintain this web site.  This is a good community but since moving here, I've heard some negative comments about everything from corruption to fear of change and progress.  Well, I'm from Chicago, I've spent a lot of time in San Francisco and I lived in a large Northern city for a number of years.  I have degrees in Political Science and History.  I spent almost 30 years working with, and getting to know,  some very special young ladies and young men who were considered the very worst of youthful criminals.  You probably don't want to try to convince me this is a bad community.  I've seen "Bad" and this isn't it.   Everywhere I turn around here,  I see potential and good things.  This web site is my attempt to tell people they are appreciated and admired for what they do.  I have no connection with UWF,  the Pelicans, the Zoo. the local parks, local leaders or anyone (or anything)  else I write about.  This is a community of winners and achievers.  It is an area of natural beauty. I'm merely pointing it out.

So, to the Lady Argos and their coaches I say:  "Great Work.  You represent your families, your school and your various states, communities and nations with class.  Most of all, you demonstrate your own strength of character and penchant for hard work and achievement. We are proud of you.  Go get your championship, you're already winners in our book.
